Where it All Began: Monte Sanders Training Ray Lewis and Ed Reed
Monte’s most notable work has been on the football field, training his NFL Hall of Fame client, Ray Lewis and soon-to-be Hall of Fame client, Ed Reed, from the Baltimore Ravens. Shortly after Ray Lewis led The Baltimore Ravens to their 2000-2001 Super Bowl victory, Monte was introduced to Ray and they began exercising together. The first workout was grueling — to say the least — spanning the entire day, targeting cardio, weight training, endurance, core work, and more.
At the end of it Ray looked at Monte and said…
“I want to tell you something. I have never met anyone who finished a workout with me. I’ve worked out with hundreds of thousands of people. Teammates all over. The University of Miami… everywhere. No one has ever finished a workout with me. I’ve got to have you with me all the time.”

And so the unbreakable relationship between a trainer and a client began.
They set big goals and made not only exercise but the balance of mind, body, and spirit, the number one priority.
For fourteen years, Monte has been Ray’s Personal Trainer, working out with him during the season and traveling the world with him in the offseason to keep his mind and body in top shape for the NFL football season.
Ed Reed soon joined the workouts, and together the three of them continued the grueling and intense training for years to come.
Monte and Ray continue to workout together each week, and every summer they inspire and train top high school athletes from across the country in The Under Armour Football Camp in Florida.
But, Monte isn’t only a celebrity trainer to Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. He found a very deep calling to help people who need it the most, both in his community through in-person bootcamps and nationwide through online exercise on Burnalong.
